Packing

Packing my room – such a chore. Now I know what my bro meant when he said packing was really a chore. Realised I’ve collected alot of rubbish over the the year. I still remember the first time I moved into my room in Wilson House – and was thinking about not worrying about keeping lots of stuff because it was going to be a while before I was going to have to move out…

And now – it’s already time to move out.

Update on Life

Been neglecting my blog for a while, even though it’s been almost a month since my exams have ended.

Have to finish studying prolog by Wednesday for my test.

Listened to both The Used and Linkin Park’s new albums – I must say I’m quite disappointed with the style of the new albums. Been listening to Funeral For A Friend and Sum 41 again. I really like Funeral For A Friend’s sound now. They’ve progressed quite a lot.
I’m craving to compose some songs and go jamming again.

Angels & Airwaves

For those of you who didn’t know that famous punk-rock band Blink 182 had disbanded and that the old members have formed their own new bands. Bassist and Drummer Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker formed +44  and guitarist Tom Delonge went on to form Angels & Airwaves.

Having listened to both bands, I must say that I really like Angels & Airwaves‘ music – it’s definitely a different style as compared to the old Blink 182. +44 sounds alot more like Blink 182, but Angels & Airwaves ( AVA ) really hits the spot. I just ordered their album today =)

A Little’s Enough

Came across the band Angels & Airwaves today – and thankfully because it provided me for my fix for the day.

It’s just one of those periods where you’re kept so busy during the day that you don’t think much about other things – and when you lie awake in bed at night, thoughts and images just flow and bombard your mind.

It’s like happiness implies the absence of sadness, but absence of sadness does not imply happiness. ( A little bit of Logic here, sorry ).

I’m in the mood to do some music composition, but I don’t really have time to do anything now and I don’t have the manpower to aid me right now too.

Sigh…

Things that irk(me)…

#1. Lack of good music
It’s been a really long time since I’ve had a good album of music which I can listen to. I’ve come across a few good bands like Life In Your Way which served as my fix for the past 2 weeks, but right now – I’ve got no nice good music to listen to.

I need to find a band with songs as charged as The Used, with lyrics as relatable to as Hybrid Theory, technical expertise as Between the Buried and Me. Throw in a little As Cities Burn, Underoath and Saosin would be good.

I miss composing songs with the band.

#2. Lack of sleep
One of the nicest things in the world – to be able to have a good night’s sleep without worrying too much about what you have to do tomorrow, what you have left to do today and what things you had to fix from the mistakes you made yesterday. Lack of sleep is okay – but a stretch of lack of sleep days can be very very trying.

#3. Lack of food ( especially good food )
One of the things that irks me badly ( especially over here ), is when I don’t have food in my belly. When I’m hungry, I get moody – simple as that. The problem is sometimes I crave for food which can’t be found over here ( or can be found for amazingly high prices ). I need food to keep me happy and keep me sane.

#4. Rain on my way to school
Not nice to sit down with wet jeans, wet clothes, wet socks, smelly shoes and worst of all – wet hair. Big head-ache causer – not to mention it makes me look like a fool. Not that I don’t look like a fool already – but I look like a fool who just got dunked in the pool.

#5. Hair too long to spike, but too short to leave as it is
For guys who wax their hair; there comes a point in time when you feel you just have too much hair ( remembering a discussion I had with Say Lin ), and you just feel like shaving everything off. It’s a pain cause the hair is too long to wax ( it tends to fall haphazardly over the head ) and it’s too short to leave it ( and look like a mushroom ).

It’s such a beautiful night – such a beautiful night to be emo.
